IntraPower offers free IT to flood-hit businesses

Cloud-based IT services company company IntraPower (ASX:IPX) has revealed it will provide free and discounted IT assistance to flood-affected Queensland businesses.

IntraPower said it would team up with IT businesses including Telstra Wholesale, Wimax provider BigAir and Data Outsource to provide services to non-customers based on the capacity available.

The offer is limited based on IntraPower's spare capacity, the company said.

IntraPower COO Darc Rasmussen said some businesses in the area have been kept offline for more than a week, and this may extend to two weeks in some cases.

The company's own Brisbane office had to be temporarily closed due to floods, but its own Trusted Cloud unified communications service remained uninterrupted and employees were able to work from home.

Staff in IntraPower's Brisbane and Sydney offices also helped to keep services online for its customers, Rasmussen said.

IPX shares stayed flat during Wednesday's trading to close at $0.130.
